HOLIDAYS AND NATIONAL HOLIDAYS

Open on the following holidays and national holidays:

Maundy Thursday, Good Friday (11am-4 pm), Prayer Day, Ascension Day, May 1 and Constitution Day. Opening hours are the same as the opening hours in the weekends in the occuring season.

Closed the following holidays and national holidays: the weekend the 28.-29. October 2017.December 24. New Year´s Day, 1. Christmas Day, 2. Christmas Day, 2nd day of Easter and 2. Pentecost

Guided tours in English, Italian, French, German by appointment: DKK 700. Please write to booking@blixen.dk  Max. 25 people on each guided tour.

Café Karen Blixen

Café Karen Blixen is leased out. Therefore the museum’s administration does not receive orders for food and drink. To contact the cafe, please click here.

LOCATION AND PARKING

Rungstedlund is situated on Strandvejen (The coastal road, 152N), 25 km north of Copenhagen, 10 km south of Elsinore, making access by car easy and convenient. There is limited parking space at the Museum and a coach park 300 metres away.

The best way to get to Rungstedlund by way of public transport is to take the train to Rungsted Kyst st. From the station there is a 15-20 minute walk (signposted) to the museum, or you could take bus no. 388. Bus 388 also drives by both Klampenborg and Lyngby stations.

VISITORS WITH DISABILITIES

The museum ground floor, with Karen Blixen´s private home, cafe and shop is accessible for wheelchair through back entrances. Please ask staff at the counter for guidance. The documentary exhibition on Blixen’s life and the Boganis-hall where exhibitions take place, is situated at first floor, which has no lift. In an annexe 50 meters from the museum is a toilet for the disabled.
